THE ADAPTIVE APPROACH
Observe.
Interpret.
Adapt.

Expect to keep track of how you’re doing and discuss what needs to change.

Why the old approach gets harder

01A familiar frustration

Simple calorie deficits work; until they don't

The body is more adaptive, responsive, to incoming food signals than any of us realize. Chronic deficits create issues, sooner or later.

Age, changes in health, and demands on your time can make the same diet harder to manage than it used to be.

  • 01Hunger makes a calorie deficit hard to maintain.
  • 02Your weight is coming down. You want to keep your strength and muscle.
  • 03You’re too tired to train well, or you’re still recovering when the next session comes around.
  • 04What you know has gotten you this far; your nagging issues deserve a professional consult

02The approach

What we look at each week.

We review your progress, see what's working, and adjust what isn't. Personal touch on every account, no single "protocol" to stuff you into.

01

Observe.

We discuss what actually happened over the past week, your energy, stress, hunger, and quality of life

02

Interpret.

We consider the results alongside how you feel and how training is going. Losing weight while feeling exhausted is a reason to reassess.

03

Adjust.

We adjust food choices, amounts, or training as needed. Some weeks, the useful decision is to leave the plan alone.

04A good partnership

Is this right for you?

I can help you decide what to change. I need an honest account of what you’re eating and what’s proving difficult.

A good fit

  • You’ve tried weight loss before and want an individualized process.
  • You’ll track or provide other useful feedback.
  • You’re willing to take responsibility for your food choices.
  • You want to lose fat without giving up muscle or training performance.
  • You’ll communicate honestly and put adjustments into practice.

A different kind of support may fit better

  • You’re looking for guaranteed, rapid results.
  • You want a passive plan without accountability.

07FAQs

Before you book.

Is this a meal plan?

Amongst other things, yes. Chatgpt will give you a meal plan, this is a meal plan with the human experience and intelligence to ascertain the context from you, which is relevant and impactful towards success.

Do I need exercise programming?

We will examine what you're doing for excercise in every onboarding call. If you're happy with the results from your current programming, there's often little need to start with both nutrition and excercise programming. If you want a one stop solution, and one person accountable for your success in both endeavors, then it's worth discussing.

Can I participate while working with a physician?

Yes. Coaching can complement appropriate medical care. Continue to work with your physician on medical concerns, symptoms, and medications, and discuss any relevant exercise or nutrition restrictions with them.

Is this medical care?

No. Adaptive Body provides educational nutrition, fitness, and wellness coaching. It does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and it does not replace a physician or other licensed healthcare professional.
